I’ve had the opportunity to film bikes for a couple commercials. One for Greenline Cycles in Oroville, CA (possibly the world’s best bike shop), and for a Tri Counties Bank commercial. The Greenline spot involved filming 3 road cyclists in the foothills, and the Tri Counties spot featured a teammate of mine from the cycling team that is sponsored by the bank. For both shoots the method of choice was to film from the back of an SUV. With a solid camera mount, a smooth road and occasionally a little stabilization in post, you can get some great shots.

I recently purchased this mount for the GoPro HD Hero. This mount is made by K-Edge and solved my issue of mounting the camera to a bike with an aero carbon frame. This mount allows me to mount the camera rear facing to the seat rails. I’m still waiting to do a full test, but once I do, I will upload the video here.

After completing the series that garnered our first Emmy® win, we went about business as usual – commercials, promo videos, etc. A few months later we were contacted by Coast Learning Systems (they produced the series that won the first Emmy) about doing some work on a new series about anthropology. Our involvement on this series was to develop the main title sequence, which is the universal opening that plays at the beginning of every episode. In addition we designed and produced all of the graphic styles and motion graphics for the entire series.

This series went on to win a Los Angeles Area Emmy® Award, and as a main contributor, we were eligible for a commemorative Emmy® Statue. Needless to say, we accepted.

Gotta say, we love our job.
